– Dr Emadalden Alshigagi: Founder, Family Care Medical Center

Professional Background

I am a dedicated physician currently working as a General Practitioner in Edmonton, Alberta. Since 2014, I have had the privilege of serving patients in two different clinics. My initial practice was located on 107 Street until 2017, after which I moved to a new, larger location—Family Care Medical Center—where I continue to expand my patient base. As the owner and leading physician at this clinic, I’m proud to have built a trusted reputation with over 3,000 patients, working full-time six days a week to meet the diverse healthcare needs of our community.

Education & Early Career

I graduated in 2004 from Elfateh University Faculty of Medicine in Tripoli, Libya, earning an honored grade. Soon after, I began practicing medicine at Tripoli Medical Center, the largest hospital in the region, where I worked primarily in the Emergency Department. During the Libyan revolutionary war, I continued to serve patients up until 2012, when I decided to move to Canada with my family to pursue new professional opportunities and ensure a better future for us all.

Canadian Practice Experience

Upon arriving in Canada, I completed the necessary evaluations and succeeded in obtaining my license to practice medicine. I initially spent two years working in rural Alberta, gaining valuable experience in McLennan, Falher, and several other emergency settings. In 2014, I moved to Edmonton with my family, motivated by the chance to further grow my career and provide a wider range of services. Today, my focus is on delivering compassionate, patient-centered care at Family Care Medical Center.

Patient-Centered Philosophy

My core philosophy is simple: “Care, care, and care—always put the patient first.” I believe that treating each patient with respect and kindness is the key to providing the best possible medical support. My approach involves understanding the unique backgrounds and needs of every individual, enabling me to offer personalized and efficient care that makes a real difference in their lives.

Personal Interests & Family Life

I am happily married and enjoy spending as much time as possible with my family. Beyond medicine, I have a range of hobbies, from home improvement and self-improvement to staying current with ongoing medical education. I also have an interest in the stock market, and I love outdoor activities such as camping and hunting. These personal pursuits allow me to stay balanced and energized, which I bring back into my practice every day.
